Career objectives
The Bachelor of Business (Majoring in Hospitality Management) is designed to further develop the industry knowledge and managerial techniques gained from a diverse range of students taking a business pathway from advanced diploma level studies at vocational educational providers.
You will learn to apply leading theories to real-world business situations, and demonstrate high-level proficiency in critical thinking, research, and the principles of social responsibility. Throughout the course you will build skills in team work and effective communication in a business management context.
The blended learning approach adopted in core units provides a variety of learning platforms and assessment strategies to engage students, stimulate critical thinking, hone decision-making skills, and fine-tune students’ oral and verbal communication abilities.
A) Students who complete the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management will receive up to 12 Units of credit towards the Bachelor of Business (Majoring in Hospitality Management).
B. Twelve (12) Units from TSBE (Tasmanian School of Business and Economics) are offered at Universal College of Higher Education over 3 semesters as listed below.

BMA357 - Freelancing and Small Business
Plus ONE of the following two units:
BMA329 - Retail Marketing
or
BMA351 - Marketing Management

Entry Requirement and Advanced Standing
Completion of Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management OR Completion of a Diploma or credit transfer from another college or university, which will be assessed individually by University of Tasmania.
English Language Requirements
English Language requirements are deemed to have been met if documentary evidence of English proficiency, equivalent to IELTS 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5, achieved within the last two years of the application for admission to the Degree, is provided.
Attendance
Attendances at lectures and tutorials are compulsory. Students are required to attend at least 80% attendance in each unit, penalties may apply if you fail to meet the attendance requirements.

This course is an eligible course under the Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme.
